Prenatal Care
Appointments take place at our office, with the first appointment around 9-16 weeks. You are seen every four weeks until you reach 28 weeks, then you are seen every two weeks. You are seen weekly starting at 36 weeks gestation. Your midwife will draw your blood roughly three times during the pregnancy. You will be referred out for ultrasounds. You will also have a home visit around 35 weeks.
Labor & Delivery Care
Your midwife will arrive at your house and admit you when you are in active labor. She will stay to monitor you and the baby and help tend to your needs. Your midwife will encourage waterbirth and help guide you through delivery. She can help with complications that may arise and carries oxygen and medications and can resuscitate your baby if needed. Your midwife will stay with you about 2-6 hours after your birth. She can also suture you if you have any tears during delivery.
Postpartum Care
You are seen for three routine visits after you deliver. This is day 2-3 in your home, then at 2 weeks and 6 weeks postpartum, both in office. Your midwife can always see you more frequently should you have breastfeeding or other postpartum issues.
Birth Professional Billing will be our new third party biller! This means we can work to get you reimbursed for your delivery if you have health insurance.

If you do not have any health insurance at the time of sign up and you would like reimbursement, you have a few options:

1. You can sign up for medicaid, this will cover all labs, ultrasounds, prescriptions, and a hospital stay should you transfer in labor. You can not get reimbursed for the delivery with medicaid, this will simply alleviate any additional costs. You can sign up for medicaid here:

2. You can opt to sign up for health insurance or a health share savings plan like MediShare. PPO is often the best and most folks will need a GAP exception.

3. You can pay for services out of pocket and your midwife will do her best to keep your out of pocket costs as low as possible.
